The Information of
Bedford Haley< no role >
taken before me this 30th. day of January 1768
Who being upon Oath says that he knows a Person now present who
calls himself James Hatton< no role >
and another Person also present who
calls himself John Houlder< no role >
who about five Weeks ago brought to this
Informant's house some Money as he believes about one pounds
six Shillings from Mr. Gran's Men to NB Says she carried said
Money up Stairs where he found a Person now present who calls
himself William Evans< no role >
alone and paid him said money Says he returned down Stairs
Immediately when the Persons who brought him the Money asked
him for a Receipt Says he went back to said Room where again
found sd. Evans alone and writing Says he them asked him for a
Receipt for the aforesaid Money when he delivered him a paper
on which he was then writing which paper he carried down and
delivered to the Persons who required the said Receipt Says that
he has several times seen Persons in Company with said Evans Armed
with Swords or Hangers at his house which put him in much Fear
