Note so exchanged by himat Newport Pagnell
was the Bank Note so inclosed in the said Letter and upon this Deponents
afterwards questioning him about the same both the Deponents say that he
confessed that he had taken the said Letter and the said Bank Note and
Bank Post Bill and that he had exchanged at Newport Pagnell the said
Twenty five Pound Bank Note but pretended that he had lost the said ten
Pound Bank Post Bill on the Road in his return from thence to London
and the said James Everdell< no role >
saith that he has not been yet able to trace
in whose hands the said Bank Note now is Altho great Pains have
been and still are taking by the Officers of the Post Office
and this Deponent
to trace the Same but he hopes he shall be able to discover the Same and
to produce it in Evidence at the next Sessions upon the Trial of this
Indictment.
