Information of Witnesses taken at
the parish of Saint Michael Bassishaw
in the Ward of Bassishaw in London the
8th. day of Decer 1789 in view of the body
of Wm. Walton there lying dead.

Jane Pearce< no role > of No. 3 Shulters Court lodger a Mrs.
Browns maketh oath that last Saturday morning Dept.
being in the two pair of Stairs room opposite the time Mrs
Shaw in the forth floor whereof Mr Walden and his Wife and
family resides she saw Mrs. Walden strike the deced an before
rather more then four years old & who was a nurse Child of hers
mett her rest first upon the left side of the head under the ear
That she their seized the Child by it hair with her left hand
and with her right heal the Child very nothing in serious
parts of the body during which time the Child died greatly
and after she had died heavley the Child she put it on a
Wooden table and the Child fell backwards in side upon the
table & Stretched itself out and Dept did not see it were way
more

Surgeon maketh oath that this many Dept was called
in to see the deadNot he examined the body of the deced
& there appears to be abruise on the left ear, but not so intent
as that Dept from to appearence conceives could have the
occasioned the death of the ChildSays he examined the other
parts of the body of the dead & did not perceive any mark or
marks of violenes whatsoeverSays if a blow had been Juror will
great notice in the deced ear & such as would have occasioned its
death he apprehends the effects would have been almost in made ale
& the Child would not have cried afterwards Says the Child afshean
