Touching the Birth of
a Bastard Child

William Tatum< no role > of Petticoat Lane
White Chapel in the sd County Chair maker maketh
oath that about fifteen years ago he this Deponent
& one Catherine Lee< no role > who is now living came & lived
together & Cohabited as Man & wife & during such Cohabitat
the sd Catherine Lee< no role > was delivered of a Male Child (aged
now about Eleven years) in Greenwood Court in the
Parish of St Botolph without Aldgate in the sd County
& since baptized & registred in Aldgate Church by the
name of William Tatum< no role > The which Child hath been
lately removed by a Pass order from the Parish of St
George in the sd County by the name of William Tatham< no role >
& hath issue no Act as yet to gain a settlement for himself
That he this Depont has not the least Doubt but that he is
the Father of the sd Child That the said Child is a Bastard
by reason that he this Depont. & the Mother of the Sd Child
was not Married till about two years after the birth
of such Child
