Jane Hopperton< no role > Singlewoman maketh oath
that divers years ago She was hired and lived as a hired Servant by
the year by & with Richard Johnson< no role > in the Butcher Row in
the parish of St Botolph without Aldgate in the said County
Victualler & Continued in Such Service there for the space of
three years & by means there of gained a legal Settlement
there That She has not Since lived elsewhere as a hired
Servant for the sapce of a year nor has She ever been Married
or done any Act to gain anothr Settlement That She hath a
Child named Richard Johnson< no role > aged about two months who
was born of her Body in Milk Street in the parish of christ
Church in the County Middx She which child is a Bastard &
illegitimate by reason this Depont was never Married and that
the sd Richd Johnson< no role > late of Lower East Smithfield aforesaid
& who is lately gone into Woles as she has been informed & believes
is the Father of the said child.

Margaret Thompson< no role > the wife of Joseph Thompson< no role >
mariner who is absent from her on board one of his Majesties Ships
of war maketh oath that her sd husband has informed her & which
She believes to be true that he was born at Antigna & to her knowledge
or belief he never did any Act to gain a Settlement in England That she
this Depont before her marriage & while a Singlewoman was hired & lived as
a hired Servant by the year with one Captn Jerrett in the parish of
Weymonth in the County of Dorset at Certain Wages & continued in Such
Service for the Space of a year & upward & by means thereof gained a
legal Settlement there & has not Since lived as a hired Servant for a year
or done any Act to gain anor. Settlement Save what She has acquired by
marriage & that She hath a Child named Susannah < no role > aged about Seven
months the lawful If one of this Deponent by her sd husband to whom
She was lawfully married.
