Susannah Hartley< no role > the widow of James Hartley< no role >
deced maketh oath that divers years ago her said late husband
has informed her & which She believes to be true that he rented a
house known by the sign of the George Ale house at the yearly
Rent of Fifteen pounds a year in Lower East Smithfield in the
Parish of Saint Botolph without Aldgate in the Sd County & was
Charged to & paid Poors Rates for the Same & by means thereof
gained a legal Settlement there & that he did not afterwards do
any Act to gain a settlement elsewhere Nor hath she this Depont
Since his death done any Act to gain a settlement for herself
And that she was lawfully married to her said late husband

divers years ago her late Father Julius Spence< no role > rented a house of
the yearly Rent of Sixteen pounds in King Street in the parish
of Saint Botolph without Aldgate in the Sd County & was charged
to & paid Poor Rates for the Same & by means thereof gained a legal
Settlement there & did not afterwards do any Act to gain a
Settlement elsewhere nor hath She this Deponent to her knowledge
or belief done any Act to gain a Settlement for herself & that She
this Deponent was part of her said Fathers Family When he lived in
King Street aforesaid.
