Continued Thursday 22d. June 1775

to consider what are or ought to be the duly Salary and Perquisites
of such Officer Servant or Arts Master and to draw up in Writing
and Report the same to the General Court.

That no Officer of these Hospitals (expect the President) be a Member
of the Committee of Inspection or of the Committee of Auditors.

That if upon the Vacancy of any Office there be more Candidates
that two their number be reduced to two by Ballot and then a Ballot
taken between those two

That on Election Day a Ballot be taken as to each Officer and if
any one shall have a Majority against him the Vacancy of that Office
to be declared and another Court Appointed for filling up such Vacancy

That any Officer or Servant giving or receiving any Fee Christmas
Box or other Perquisite to or from any Tradesmen who serves either of
these Hospitals be discharged forthwith and be incapable for the future
of serving these Hospitals.

That all Orders relating to the Servants of each Hospital be Printed and
placed in conspicuous parts of the Hospitals under the direction of the
Committee of Inspection

That each Officer and Servant when Elected have his duly read to him
and a Copy thereof given to him in print or writing.

That no Officer shall be Surely for another
And with respect to the Duties of the Officer and Servants this
Committee do not find any alterations necessary expect the few which
follow under the respective Heads of each Office.

And with regard to the Salaries and Perquisites they propose the
following alterations as more certain and less hable to Impositions

President

That the President for the time being have Liberty to propose two
governors Annually to the General Court

That upon the Vacancy of a treasurer Auditor General Preacher
Reader Physician Surgeon Apothecary Clerk Steward Receiver
Surveyor or Matron the President to within a fortnight call a
General Court to declare the same mentioning in the Summons the
Occasion of calling it and that he take care to have the Summons
for the General Court to Elect a Successor Issued at least a fortnight
before such Election

Treasure

That a Treasure be Elected upon the dissolution of this Committee
That every future Treasure give Security himself and two Sureties.
