Provisions at Bethlem Hospital and it appearing that there has been
a gradual increase
in the Price ever since the said Robert Waite< no role >
was
Elected Steward
to the Present time, in so much that Beef for some Years
past has become two thirds dearer, and Considering the vast increase
of the Price of Provisions since the Year 1712 when the Allowance made
to the Steward was Six pence Per Meal, Are of Opinion that it is
reasonable to Allow the said Robert Waite< no role >
an Additional Sum of one
penny on such Meal provided by him for the Diet of the Prisoners during
the first four Years of his Stewardship, and the additional Sum of ten
pence for each Meal provided by him during the Remainder of the
time, and that the like Additional Sum of two pence be allowed to the said
John Griffiths< no role >
for each Meal provided by him and that for the future the
Present and Succeeding Stewards of this Hospital be allowed eight
pence for each Meal to be provided by them for the Diet of the prisoners
instead of the Sum of Six Pence mentioned in the Order of Court of 1712
until this Court shall make other Order to the Contrary All which to
nevertheless Submitted to the Judgement of the Court" This Court
having duty weighed and Considered the said Report doth unanimously
Confirm the same
