Upon Reading the Humble Petition of Joseph Crossfield< no role >
Citizen and weaver Setting forth that he Served his Apprentiship
to William Phillips< no role > late one of the Artsmasters by Indenture dated
the 11th. April 1745 and was made Free of this City (by Order of Court
of the 28th. May 1752) the 7th. July 1752 and has recd. Mr Locks Gift
and is set up for himself in his Trade in Okay Street Bethnal Green
Praying Mr Fowkes Gift It is Ordered that Robt Pott< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. Esqr
Mr Wm Rogers< no role > and Mr John Whalley< no role > or any two of them be desired
to inquire if the said Joseph Crossfield< no role > be set up for himself in his
Trade and of his hopefulness therein & Report the same to the Court

Card Christr. the like


Upon Reading the Humble Petition of Christopher Card< no role >
Citizen and weaver Setting forth That he served his Apprentiship
in this Hospital to Willm Grinsell< no role > by Indenture dated the 10th
June 1752 And by Order of Court of the 8th. of April 1762 was
made free of this City 15th April 1766 and is set up for himself
in his said Trade at Mr Smith's in Austin Street near Virginia
Row Shoreditch Praying Mr. Fowkes Gift It is Ordered that
that Mr Deputy Rogers, Henry Cranke< no role > Esqr & Saml Seawell< no role > Esqr
or any two of them be desired to inquire if the said Christopher
Card
< no role > be set up for himself in his Trade and of his hopefulness
therein and Report the same to the Court

Brown John, Porter a
Gratuity of £26 Ordered
him


A Motion being made that in regard to the extra ordinary
Diligence of Mr John Brown< no role > the Porter of this Hospital a
Gratuity to be given him for his good Services for the Time past
and the Sum of Twenty Six Pounds being proposed and the
Question being put It is Ordered that the Clerk do pay the said
John Brown< no role > Twenty Six pounds as a Gratuity for his sd. Services
to be allowed him in his next Account

Gratuities to Beadles
& Porters Man £5 each


Upon Reading the Humble Petition of the four Beadles and
Porters Man of the Hospital for their Gratuities of Five Pounds
each for the Half year ending Midsummer last for their Salaries
are but Small It is Ordered that the Clerk do give and pay
unto them £5 a price to be allowed him in his next Account

Gratuities to Basketman
20s. Each


Upon Reading the Humble Petition of the three Basketman
of Bethlem Hospital for their usual Gratuites of Twenty
Shillings each for the half year ending Midsummer last
for their Salaries are but small It is Ordered that the Clerk
do give and Pay unto them Twenty Shillings a Piece to be
allowed him in his next Account
