of Bridewell his Gratuity
of £26 paid to his Extrix &
others in discharge of his
Debts & Funeral

A Motion being made in Regard to the Gratuity usually paid to
Samuel Mackley< no role > Deceased late Porter of this Hospital and it
appearing to this Court that he was very much reduced in his
Circumstances so as not to leave Sufficient for his Funeral It is
Ordered that the Clerk do pay to Elizabeth Gates< no role > the Executrix of the
said Samuel Mackley< no role > the Sum of Seventeen pounds Eight Shillings
and Eight Pence. The Sum of Six pounds Nine Shillings and four
Pence due to Mr. John Brown< no role > for the Funeral of the said Samuel
Mackley
< no role > and two pounds two Shillings to William Rundle< no role > for
Assisting the said Samuel Mackley< no role > in his Business during his
Illness making in all Twenty Six Pounds which was the Usual
Gratuity given to the Porter of this Hospital for the Year Ending
at Lady day last

Gratuities to Beadles
& Porters Man 40s Each


Upon Reading the Humble Petition of the four Beadles and Porters
Man of this Hospital for their usual Gratuities of Forty Shillings
a Piece for the half Year ending Midsummer Next for their Salarys
are but Small It is Ordered that the Clerk do give and pay unto
them 40s. a piece to be allowed him in his next Account

The like to Basketmen of
20s. Each


Upon Reading the Humble Petition of the three Basket Men
of Bethlem Hospital for their Usual Gratuities of Twenty Shillings
a Piece for the half Year Ending Midsummer next for their Salarys
are but Small It is Ordered that the Clerk do give and pay unto
them 20s. a piece to be allowed him in his next Account

to be Repaired as Estimated

Upon Reading the Surveyors Estimate of Repairs Necessary to be
done at the Appartment late Grinsells (now Thomas Reynolds< no role > ) in
the Inner Court of this Hospital amounting to Thirty two pounds It
is Ordered that the said Appartment be forthwith Repaired under
the Inspection of the Hospital Surveyor pursuant to such Estimate

Deputy Gamon John Probyn< no role > Esqr and Mr John Rose< no role > were Chosen
Stewards for the next Election Day who are desired to provide a
Dinner at their own been Venue for the President treasurer
and governors to Dine together according to Ancient Custom
And in Case any of the Stewards Elected Decline or Refuse the same
The Clerk is to supply the Number in Course
