That your Petitioners Term in the said Premises Expires at Lady Day
1772 and upon your Petition proposing to lay out a Considerable Sum of Money in the
Improvement of the said Premises if your Worships will Grand him a further Term
there in
Your Petitioner therefore Humbly prays your Worships will grant him
an Additional Term of seven Years to Commences at the Expiration of his present
Lease upon the same Terms and Conditions he now holds the same

. your Worships were Pleased on the Petition of Godfrey Thornton and
Samuel Handley< no role >
to Order that Leases should be made to them respectively and that
in Consideration of 20 Guineas by them Paid That the Term Should be made To
Hold from Lady Day 1752 for 72 Years.
That the said Godfrey Thornton afterwards Dying & leaving Petitioner one of his
Executors It was at a Court held at the said Hospitals of Bridewell
on the 23rd July
1756 Ordered that the said Lease which was to be made to him should be Granted to
your Petitioner and on the 25th. September following a Lease was Executed where by the
aforesaid Piece of Ground was Domised to Your Petitioner at the Rent of £7..10 and by
mistake made To hold from Lady Day 1756 for 67 Years Whereas it ought to have been
from Lady Day 1753 for 72 Years Whereby your Petitioners Term in the said Premises is
made to Expire one Year sooner than was Ordered by Your Worships aforesaid Order
That Your Petitioner has Agreed to part with his Interest in the said Premises

Your Petitioner therefore humbly Prays your Worships that he may be at Liberty to
Surrender the aforesaid Lease and that thereupon a New Lease may be made and Granted

said Term of 72 Years after the same Terms and Conditions as your Petitioner now Holds
the sameAnd your Petitioner shall were Pray Etc
