and Mr Deputy Vere or any two of them be desired to inquire if the said
Richard Morrall< no role > be set up for himself in his said Trade and of his hopefulness
therein and Report to the Court

Elected an Artsmaster


At this Court the Humble Petition of Lawrence Wingfield< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. Citizen & Branchmaker
and by Trade a Branch Maker was Read as follows That there being two Vacancy
of Artsmasters in the Room of Mr Pointer and Mr Tarrant and Your Petitioner
being ready and Willing to take such a Number of Apprentices as the Court
shall think fit and to keep his Apartment in Repair with Glaizing Plaistering
and Whiteing at his own Expence as is usually done by Artsmasters and to
Comply with all Orders of Court and Committee made and to be made in Relation
to Artsmasters Whereupon this Court doth Unanimously Elect the said
Lawrence Wingfield< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. an Artsmasters of this Hospital And it is Ordered
that the said Lawrence Wingfield< no role > This name instance is in a workspace. (Producing a Copy of his Freedom of this
City and delivering a Certificate of his last legal Settlement to the Clerk) be Admitted an
Artsmaster of this Hospital until the next Election Day and to have such
Apartments us the Committee of this House shall think proper Upon giving
Security as has been usually done in the like Cases

The Court proceeded to the Election of an Artsmater and the Several
humble Petitions of Thomas Banks< no role > and John Austin< no role > Cabinet Makers being
severally Read and each Setting forth that he is Willing to take such a
Number of Apprentices as the Court shall think fit and to keep his Apartmt
in Repair with Glazing Plaistering and Whiteing at his own Expence as
is usually done by Artsmasters and to comply with all Orders of Court and
Committee made and to be made in relation to Artsmaters and each
Praying to be Admitted an Artsmater; The governors gave their Ballot
which being Cast up the Number appeared to be for each as follows

Thomas Banks< no role > 22 Elected

Whereupon the Right Worshipfull Sir Richard Glyn< no role > Bart . & Alderman
President Declared the said Thomas Banks< no role > duly Elected It is Ordered
that the said Thomas Banks< no role > (producing a Copy of his Freedom of this City
and delivering a Certificate of his last legal Settlement to the Clerk) be admitted an
Artsmaster of this Hospital until the next Election Day and to have
such Apartments as the Committee of this House shall think proper upon
giving Security as has been usually done in the like Case And that the
Journeymen which he shall employ in his Trade shall be such as have
Served their Apprenticeship in this Hospital

At this Court the following Poor Boys were Ordered to be put out

Ordered that Joseph Dyke< no role > Apprentice to Richard Day< no role > be Whipped
Shipped and Turned out of the Hospital for not regarding the Orders of
the House and greatly Misbehaving himself to his Master Spoiling his
Work being very Idle and Staying out at Nights
