At a Grand Committee Thursday 27th. Sepr. 1764 The Steward of this Hospital
having informed the Committee that Charles Ednot the Barber has not attended his
Business in the Hospital of some time past and hath appointed another Person
to Officate in his Places, and this Committee being also informed that the said Chas
Ednot is now a Prisoner in the Kings Bench and thereby rendered incapables of
attending his Business for the futures This Comittee are of Opinion that this
Matter be Reported to the next General Court in Order that the said Charles
Ednot may be discharged from his Office of Barber of Bethlem all which is
submitted to the Judgment of the Court. It is Ordered that the [..] Report be Conformed and that the said Charles
Ednot be discharged from his office of Barber of Bethlem Hospital

At this Court the Vacancy of a Barber of Bethlem was Declared and
the Election of another was Ordered to come on the next Court

Reported that in Pursuance of an Order of Court of the 7th of Novr. instant
they had made Inquiry and found That Thomas Harper< no role > who Served his
Apprentiship in this Hospital to Henry Heafford< no role > is set up for himself for
his Trade an has the Character of a diligent and sober Man It is
Ordered that the Clerk Do pay the said Thomas Harper< no role > Ten Pounds out
of Mr. Fowkes Gift to be Allowed him in his next Account

Philip Dyot< no role > Esqr . & Mr. Charles Hoyle< no role > two of the governors Reported that
in pursuance of an Order of Court of the 7th. November Instant they had
made inquiry and found That Richard Bowler< no role > who served his Apprentiship
in this Hospital to William Tarrant< no role > inset up for himself in his Trade and
has the Character of a Diligent and Sober Man. It is Ordered that the
Steward do pay the said Richard Bowler< no role > Ten Pounds out of Mr. Locks Gift
to be alowed him in his next Account

It is Ordered that Daniel Surry< no role > be now Corrected and continued to
hard Labour till the next Court.

Reminded


It is Ordered that saml. Mackley< no role > the Porte of this Hospital and
William Lawrence< no role > one of the Beadler Do ask Pardon of Mr. Osborn the
constable in the face of this Court for their Misbehaviour to him and that
they be Reprimanted by Mr. President and they were reprimanded accordingly

Whereas at a Court held the 2d. day of Augst last It was Ordered
that the Charter of Bridewell Hospital Should be laid before the House
Committee for them to Examine the same and Report to this Court the powers
therein Contained. And Whereas the said Committee by the Expiration
of a great Number of Leases of part of their Estates at Wapping and otherwise
have been so much engaged and employed that they have not as yet been able to
proceed under the said Order It is thereupon Ordered that the
