On Reading the humble Petition of John Hughes< no role > Weaver Setting forthThat he
Served his Apprenticeship in this Hospital to James Smith< no role > and by Order of this
Court has been made free of this City and received £10. of Mr Fowkes Gift for
which he returns his most humble Thanks to the Court But having Occasion for
further Assistance Prays some part of Mr. Locks Gift to enable him the better
to carry on his Trade It is referr'd to the Comitee of this House to Enquire
into the behaviour of the said John Hughes And report their Opinion to this Court

Upon Reading the humble Petition of Timothy Goodwin< no role > of Wapping
Brewer as follows ViztThat the Governors by Lease (No. 13) dated the
1st. of Novr. 1717 Did Demise in to Capt John Symonds< no role > and Ann< no role > his Wife
both since deced a Messe a Tenement on the West side of Brewers lane in the
Parish of St John Wapping To hold from Lady day 1717 for 39 years at the
yearly rent of 20s. which Expired at Lady day 1756And also by Lease
(No. 14) dated the 22d. of May 1702 Did Demise unto Sr. Gregory Page< no role > since deced
a Wharfe on the South side of Wapping street , a house, a Brew house, and
Brewhouse yard and other ground on the West side of Brewers lane , And a peice of
Ground on the North side of Cinnamon lane To hold from Midsr. 1702
for 54 Years at the Yearly rent of £12. for the fast 13 years and £30 for the Residue
of the said Term which Expired at Midsr. 1756 (all which said premes are part
of the Possessions of Bridewell Hospital)That the Petitioner is willing
to take a Lease of the sd. Premes in the Condition they now are and to put em
into Tenatable repair (with usual Covenants between the Governors & their
Tenants at Wapping) for 7¾ years from Midsr. last at the Antient rent
of £12. and an increased rent of £43 P Ann clear of Taxes Payable
quarterly at the Compting house of the said Hospital of Bridewell And to
execute a Counter part of such LeaseAnd praying the Governors will be
pleased to grant him a Lease AccordinglyThis Court doth Order that the sd.
Petition be referr'd to the Comittee of this House to Consider there of And Report their
Opinion thereon to the Court.
