Mr. William Seward< no role > and Mr. William Singleton< no role > Reported that in
Pursuance of an Order of Court the 24th. of Novr. 1752 They had
made Enquiry and found That Henry Heafford< no role > Ribbon Weaver who Served his
Apprenticeship in this Hospital to John Burnham< no role > is set up for
himself in his said Trade & has the Character of a Diligent & Sober
ManIt is Ordered That the Steward Do pay the said
Henry Heaford Ten Pounds out of Mr Locks Gift

Upon Reading a Report from the Comittee of this House Dated
the 8th. of Decr. 1752 under the hands of Robert Alsop< no role > Esqr. Aldn Trear
Mr. Roger Altham< no role > Mr. William Sitwell< no role > Edwd Umfreville< no role > Esqr. Phineas
Cheeke
< no role > Esqr. John Lock< no role > Esqr Mr. Samuel Southouse< no role > as followesIn
Pursuance of an Order of Court the 24th of Novr. last this Comittee
have taken into Comm the Proposal of the Governor and Company of
the New River for a House or Warehouse in the North side of Cross Street
in the Precinct of Bridewell now or late in the Occupation of John
Holditch
< no role > (being part f the premes comprized in a Lease (No. 36 ) to
Christopher Appleby< no role > Esqr which will expire next Xmas O.S) to take
a Lease from Xmas next O.S for 52 3/4 yrs. at £6 P Ann payable
Quarterly at the Compting house at Bridge Hospital clear of Taxes
and to pay a Fine of 10 Gas. and Imediately to take down part of the Wall
of the sd. Warehouse fronting Cross Street and Set the same back as far as to
range in a Straite line from the South West Angle of the Souther most house
out the Eastside of Water Street to FleetditchThis Comittee are of
Opinion to Accept the sd. Proposal and to Grant a Lease to the sd. Govr.
& Company of the premes Except so much as will make a Strait
line as aforesaid) with usual Covenants And also a Covenant from
the said Governor and Company to pay to the Chappel wardens
of the sd. Precinct for the time being such Sum & Sums of Henry
Quarterly in Reportion with other Occpuyers of Ground and Houses
in the said Precinct towards the Charge of the Seavenger Watch &
Poor of the said Precinct as shall be Assessed from time to time at
the Usual Meetings of the Chappelwardnes and Inhabitants of
the sd. Precinct The Governors and Company Sealing a Counter part
of the said LeaseAnd Mr. Holford Clerk of the said Company
being called In and Acquainted therewith Agreed thereto & gave three
Guineas to the Po [..] box All which is Submitted to the Judgment
of the Court And it is Ordered That this Opinion be Reported
to the next CourtThis Court haveing duely weighted & Considered
the sd. Report Doth Confirm the same And Ordered That a Lease be made
to the sd. Governor & Company Accordingly.
