Tuesday 23d: July 1745.

Beadles Gra ½ Yr. Midsr. 1745.


Upon reading the humble petition of the Four Beadles of this Hospl.
for their usual Gratuitys of Forty Shillings a peice in respect of the
half year ending at Midsummer last for that their Salarys are but
Small It is ordered that the Clerk of this Hospital do give and pay
unto then Forty Shillings a peice to be allowed him in his next Account.

Basketmendo.


Upon reading the humble petition of the Three Beadles or Basketmen
of the Hospital of Bethlem for their usual Gratuitys of Twenty Shillings
a peice in respect of the half year ending at Midsummer last for that their
Salary are but Small It is ordered that the Clerk of this Hospital do
give and pay unto them Twenty Shillings a peice to be allowed him in his
next Account

Upon reading the humble petition of Charles Child< no role > Tailer Setting forth
That he Served his Apprenticeship in this Hospital part to Mr. John
Ward
< no role > and the remainder to Mr. Thomas Reay< no role > one of the Artsmaster s of this
Hospital by Indre dat the 7th. of April 1737 and by an Order of Court the
25 of April 1744 he was on the 9th. of May following made Free of this
City and is Set up for himself in his Trade at Mr. John Hants< no role > a Tailer
in Fryer Street Blackfryers

And the Court being informed that the Comee of this House on the
Sixteenth instant inspected the Book kept of apprentices behaviour and
found no complaint agst. himIt is ordered that Mr: Deputy Hunt
Mr. Nathaniel Nash< no role > and Mr: Thomas Morris< no role > three of the Governors of
these Hospitalls or any Two of them be desired to inquire whether the
said Charles Child< no role > be Set up in his Trade and of his hopefullness
therein and to make their Report to the Court

Lease of a House in St.
Martins Lane referred}


Upon reading the proposalls of Richard Kyte< no role > of St. Martins Lane
near Charing Cross Victualler whereby he proposed to take a Lease for
21 years of the House nor in the possession of William Howard< no role >
Sutuate in St. Martins Lane at the Yearly rent of £20 payable quarterly
at the Compting House of Bridewell Hospital to be paid clear of
all Parliamentary and other Taxes for the first year and the Lease
to commence with the other Lease which is lately granted him & to
execute a Counterpart of such LeaseIt is Ordered that the said
petition be referred to the Comee of this House to consider thereof
and to report their Opinion thereon to the Court.

Ordered that William Pellins< no role > a Prisoner be sent to the Regulating
Captains & if they will take him into His Majestys Service at Sea then
the Steward is to provide proper Cloathing for him at the Charge of the
Hospital as Mr. President shall direct.
