Upon reading the humble petition of Benjamin Packer< no role > Tailer setting forth
That he served his Apprenticeship in this Hospital to Mr. John Ward< no role > late one
of the Artsmaster s by Indre dated 21st. December 1733 and by an order of Court
the 11th. day of December last he was on the 19th. day of January last made free
of this City and is now set up for himself in his said Trade at Mr. Cummings
in Ireland Yard Blackfryers And the Court being informed that the
Committee of this House on the 11th. Febry instant of inspected the Book kept
of Apprentice behaviour and found no complaint against himIt is
Ordered that Mr. John Purcas< no role > Mr. Abraham Purcas< no role > and Mr. John Watts< no role >
three of the Governors of these Hospitalls or any two of them be desired
to inquire whether the said Benjamin Packer be set up in his Trade & of
his hopefullness therein and to make their Report to the Court.

At this Court Stephen Packer< no role > a poor boy at the Nomination of Phineas
Cheeke
< no role > Esqr was ordered to be put out Apprentices.

Ordered that John Brown< no role > the junior Beadle of this Hospital be third
Beadle in the room of Thomas Cleaver< no role > deceased.

The Petitions of the Candidates for the place of Junior Beadle of this
Hospital in the room of John Brown< no role > made third Beadle being read in
Alphabetical Order Vizt. Joseph Fitch< no role > . John Seakins< no role > and John Truelove< no role >
The Governors gave their Ballots which being last up the number appearnt
to be as follows Vizt

For Joseph Fitch< no role > 3
John Seakins< no role > 19
John Truelove< no role > 14

Whereupon the Right Worshipfull the President declared the said John
Seakins
< no role > to be duly Elected Junior Beadle of this Hospitall till the next
Election dayAnd it is Ordered that upon his giving such security
as is usual in the like Case and producing a certificate of his and his
Wifes settlement. He the said John Seakins< no role > be admitted Junior Beadles
of the said Hospital of Bridewell untill the next Election day and that
he have such Appartmt. as the Comittee of this House shall think fit.

to the Monthly Comee}


This Court taking into consideration the Anonymous Letter sent to Mr. President
and read at the last Court It is Ordered That the three first Paragraphs relating
to Bethlem Hospital be referred to the Monthly Comittee at that Hospital who
are desired to examine into the facts therein mentioned and to report their
Opinion thereon to this CourtAnd as to the four the paragraph The
Clerk acquainted this Court that twice in every year he has made eat
Lists of the names of the Artsmasters and of their respective Apprentices
with the dates of their respective Indentures and an Account of such
of them as were run away and laid a sufficient number of copys of the
said Lids before the Committees at the times of their delivery of the
Apprentices Cleathing and the same was confirmed by several of the
Governors present in CourtTherefore as to that part and also as to
the remainder of the said Letter This Court doth not find there wants
any redress or remedy.
