Upon reading a Report from the Comee of Bridewell Hospital bearing date
the 19th. of Septr. last under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . Trear, Mr.
Gilbert Malcher< no role > , Mr. Edward Dod< no role > , Mr. John Purcas< no role > , Mr. Deputy Snart, Peter

the words and figures [..] Vizt.Samuel Saunders< no role > proposed to take the
House late Rouse's for a year certain from Michas next at Sixteen pounds
rent and a quarters Warning and to take it in the Condition it is in and to
pay all Taxes except the LandtaxHenry Lawrence< no role > proposed to take
the same house at £15. P Ann rent from year to year for his brother in Law
Johnand the Hospital to put it into repair The Comee agreed to
accept the proposal of Samuel Saunders< no role > and Ordered it to be reported to the
CourtThis Court having duly weighed and considered the said Report
doth confirm the same.

Upon reading the humble Petition of James Theobald< no role > of the parish of St.
Mary at Lambeth in the County of Surry Timber Merchant John Smart< no role > of
the parish of St. Leonard Shoreditch in the County of Middx Brickmaker

settingforthThat the Govrs. by Indre of Lease bearing date the 16th. day of
May 1738. demised to the Petr. Baker All that peice or parcell of Ground
scituate and being at the North End of Globe Yard in old Bethlem in the
said parish of St. Botolph without Bishopgate London abutting East on two
Swann Yard in the Occupation of Thomas Vickers< no role > Esqr . West on Ground belonging
to the City of London and North partly on certain Sheds and Warehouses in
the Occupation of Joseph Maisters and partly on certain Sheds and Warehouses and
Workshops in the Occupation ofEast containing in length from East to West
on the South side thereof 118 foot and six Inches of Assize little more or less
and on the north side thereof 120 foot and Eight Inches of Assize little more or
less and in breadth from North to South on the East side thereof 65 foot of Assize
little more or less and on the West side thereof 52 & 4 Inches of assize little
more or less which said thereby demised Ground is part of the possessions of the
said Hospital of Bridewell and is more particularly described in a Ground
Kott thereto annext Together with all ways passages Lights Easements Watercomes
Comoditys and Appurtenances to the said thereby demised premises belonging or
appertaining To hold for Sixty one years from Laday 1737. at a Pepper Corn
the first year and four Shillings a year for the remainder thereof Payable
Quarterly Tax FreeThat the Petr. Baker the 10th. day of October 1738. by
leave of the Governors demised or leased in Mortgage to the Petr. Charles Scott< no role > the said
premisses by the said Lease granted amongst others for a Term short of the
said Term granted to the Petr. John Baker< no role > as aforesaidThat the Petr.
Baker by Deed dated 8th. day of Novr. 1738. assigned the said premes by the
said Term granted to the Petr. John Baker< no role > as aforesaidThat the Petr.
Baker by Decd dated 8th. day of Novr. 1738. assigned the said premes by the
said Lease granted as aforesaid (amongst others) to the Petrs. James Theobald< no role >
John Smart< no role > and Joseph Maisters Subject to the said Mortgate In Trust to sell the
same as therein is mentionedThat the Petrs. James Theobald< no role > John Smart< no role >
John Baker< no role > and Charles Scott< no role > are desirous of assigning to the Petr. Joseph
Maisters the same premisses for the remainder of the said Term of 61 years
now to come and unexpired discharged of the said Mortgage and Trusts
And praying that the Petrs. James Theobald< no role > John Smart< no role > John Baker< no role > and
Charles Scott< no role > may have leave to assign the said premisses to the Petr. Joseph
Maisters accordinglyIt is Ordered that the said James Theobald< no role > , John
Smart
< no role > John Baker< no role > and Charles Scott< no role > have the Licence of this Court to assign
the said premes to the said Joseph Maisters accordingly.

Upon reading the proposals of Richard Smith< no role > of Tavistock Street Covent Garden
Gent settingforthThat he proposes to take of the Governors of Bethlem
Hospital a Building Lease of the two Houses Vizt. one house in the occupation
of George Pearce< no role > Plumber containing in front 14 foot and in depth 54 foot
and the other house in the Occupation of Charles Homes< no role > Distiller containing
in breadth or front 12 foot 9 Inches and in depth 54 foot which two Houses
are scituate in St. Martins Lane Charing Cross and propose to take them as above
for the term of 61 years at the Yearly rent of £5 a year each house clear of all
Taxes Excepting the first Year at a Pepper Gorn for BuildingIt is Ordered
that the said proposals be referred to the Comee who are to consider the same and
report their Opinion thereon to the Court.
