haveing proposed to take a Lease of the third house in Fowks Court in Tower
Street
part of the possessions of Bethlem hospital
for the Term of seven years
to Comence from Lady day next at the yearly Rent of Thirty two pounds wilk
Such usual Covenants as are contained in the Leases from the Governor
s of the said
hospital to their tenants excepting that he shall not be obliged to rebuild or repair
the premisses in Case they Shall be burnt or damnified by fire And the said house
being already insured from fire for the Benefitt of the hospital This Comee are
of Opinion to accept ye said proposal upon which the said Mr Mann gave
three Guineas to the poor Box All which is nevertheless Submitted to the Judgmt.

was read as followeth vizt.
Whereas at a Court holden at this hospital the 13th. day of Aprill 1711
a Report was made by the Comee of this house Reciteing that at a Court holden
the 26th. Aprill 1706 It was Ordered That Mrs.

and the Bakers house adjoyning and the
Ground and premisses thereto belonging in old Bethlem
to Comence from Xmas
1708 for thirty four years at Thirty pounds p Annum Rent and £50. fyne
with a Covenant to new build the front houses in four years from the date
of the said Order according to the Second Rate of building with an even Range
from the Blew Coat Alehouse
to her then now building which would be
Setting back about three foot And that a Drought of Such Lease had been
prepared and after her perusing thereof and agreeing thereto was ingrossed but
She haveing in the mean time only pulled down and new made the front
of the Bakers house but not built the Same according to the Second rate of
Building nor Sett it back according to her Agreement alledging She did not
rightly apprehend the Same therefore the said Lease had not been Sealed
Whereupon She had Several times attended the Comee and desired liberty to
rebuild at any time before the expiration of her Term which the Comeeded
not think reasonable and at Last She desired four years more to rebuild in the
manners before mentioned and the Comee proposeing to her that She
Should assign over for the Benefitt of Bethlem hospital the policys of
Insurance made upon the houses then Standing and that She Should from
time to time after the premisses Should be new built as aforesaid cause ye
Same to be insured from fire and the Policys tobe made to or assigned over
for the use of the said hospital She agreed thereto and upon consideration
