At this Court It is Ordered that it be Referred to ye Comee of this
house to examine whether all the artsmar s belonging to this Hospital
be free of this City and to inspect the Copys of their freedoms and to
Report to this Court whether any and which of them are not free

apprentices


At this Court the following poor Boys were ordered to be putt apprentices
in this Hospital at ye nomination of the Several Governor s hereunder named vizt.

A Report was read to this Court from ye Comee of this house under ye
hands of John Tayler< no role > Esqr . Trear Col George Meggott< no role > Lawrence Parker< no role > Esqr
Mr. John Elderton< no role > Mr Thomas Preston< no role > Mr. Depty Everett Mr. Christr. Bateman< no role >
Mr Richard Rawlinson< no role > Mr Jno. Neale< no role > Mr Wm Lee< no role > & Mr Depty George Ludlam< no role >
dated ye 10th. day of Octor. instant in the words followingThis Comee
in pursuance of an Order of ye Last Court haveing inquired into ye Characters
of James Price< no role > Lancelot Bellowes< no role > & Thomas Wood< no role > who petitioned ye said Court
for one of them to be elected Tailer in the Room of Moses Gun< no role > and Also Thomas
Ward
< no role > who has Since laid his petition before this Comee They have had ye best
recomendation of Price & Ward and are of Opinion that they are ye most
fifty qualifyed to serve the Hospital which never the less is Submitted to ye
Judgmt. if ye Court.

Upon reading ye Several humble Petitions and ye Several Certificates of ye
Settlement of James Price< no role > & Lancelot Bellowes< no role > Thomas Wood< no role > & Thomas Ward< no role >
Tailers for one of them to be Elected an Artsmaster of this Hospital in the room
of Moses Gun< no role > Tailer who went away privately with his family and they being
Severally put in nomination The Majority appeared to be for ye sd James Price< no role > &
Thomas Ward< no role > who being agen put in nomination The Rt. Worshipll S William
Withers
< no role > knt . & aldran president of these Hospitals was pleased to declare that in his
Opinion ye plurality of hands were for ye sd James Price< no role > but a Poll being demanded
The Governor s that were for ye sd Ward were desired to withdraw and those who were for
ye said Price to remain in Court & Then Tollers were appointed vizt. Samuel Rush< no role > Esqr
for ye said price & Mr Henry Marshall< no role > for ye said Ward who being returned Reported ye
Number for Price to be 26 & ye Number for Ward to be 28. Whereupon This Court
doth declare ye said Thomas Ward< no role > Elected and it is Ordered that he be accordingly admition
an Artsmaster of this hospital until ye next Election day upon has produceing to ye Comee of
this house a proper Certificate of his Settlement (that which he now brought being wanting on
form) & a Copy of his freedom of this City & giveing such Security as is usual in ye like Case and that
he have such appartments in ye hospital as ye Comee if this house shall direct
