That they did on Fryday the 21th. day of Septemr. 1711 view the
Farme and Lands belonging to the sd. hospital of Bethlem
called the
Manner of Cottington lyeing in the parishes of Northburne
and
Shoulden
in the County of Kent
in the occupacon of

who has held the same for severall yeares past under a Lease from ye
Governor
s. of the sd hospital which expired at Michas last
And also Seven peices of Marsh Land belonging to the sd
hospital of Bethlem
which were purchased of Mr. Gosfright and are
adjoyning to the Marsha Lands of Cottington
and are also held by
the sd Gurney as Tenant at Will lyeing in the parishes of Walmen
Deale
Mougham
and Shoulden
And also the Marsh Lands
formerly held by Terry now by ye said Gurney being part of Mr. Potts
Gift to the said hospital (of Barston fair
)
And did find that the dwelling house Barnes and Outhouses
of the Farme were in good Tenantable repaire but Mr Gurney desired
that he Milk house which was then paved wth Bricks might be
paved wth. Broad StonesAnd that the Gardens to the house might
be inclosed wth a Brickwall which will contain about 145 foot &
that he might have a New Lease of all the said premisses according
to his Petition

And did on the Same day view the Two Farmes at Barfreston
in the said County which were the Gift of Mr Potts to the sd. Hospital
of Bethlem
and were then in the occupacon of

and did find the dwelling house in good repair being part of it now
built and that the Barnes and Outhouses as well belonging to the
Larger as the lesser Farme were also in good repair and that an
Outlett or Cart house was then Setting up which needed little more
then that king of all which premisses he desired a New Lease
