of these Hospitals &
of the Said Comee which Report is in these words vizt
Att a Comee at the Hospital of Bethlem
Saturday
27th. March 1708. This Comee haveing inspected the
Books of this Hospital and finding thereby that Several
patients have remained in the house for many yeares
of whose cure there can be no hopes but their
continuance is a great hindrance to the takeing in
of other patients. It is the Opinion of this Comee that
an examination Should be made of all the patients in the
house and that Such as have been of long Standing and
appear to be insurable Should be discharged in order
to the admission of other patients who may received benefitt
thereby and that Some care Should be taken for
preventing the like inconveniency for the future in
Such Manner as the Court at Bridewell
Shall think
proper And ti's Order'd That this Opinion be reported to
the next Court It is Order'd by this Court That an
examination and discharge of the incurable patients be
made accordingly and that it be referred to the Grand
Comee of the Said Hospital of Bethlem
to consider of a
proper method for preventing the long continuance of
incurable patients in that Hospital for the future and
to report their Opinion therein to this Court.
