Also It haveing been referred to be Comittee of the house
to peruse the Charge which is read to the Governours of these
Hospitals upon their repective admissions and to make such
alterations and amendmts. as they Should See fitt and to report
the same to this Court The Charge was accordingly proposed
to be putt into these words vizt The Charge which is to
be given to every Governour of the hospitals of Bridewell
and Bethlem before his admission in the presence of the
President (or Treasurer) and other Governours assembled
in Court Sr. You have been Elected and come now to be
admitted a Governour of the Hospitals of Bridewell and
Bethlem: which is a Station of great Trust and influence &
will afford you many opportunitys of promoting God's Glory
and the Good of your Fellow Creatures For in the sd Hospitals
a Provision is made for Employing idle and Vagrant and
correcting lewd and disorderly persons for Educating Poor
Children in honest Trades and for cureing needy deplorable
Lunaticks. The distribution of the Revenues designed by
Charitable persons for these Excellent Ends as now about to
be committed to your care: And you are earnestly desired
to discharge your duty in this behalfe with such a conscientious
Regard as that you may appear with joy att the Judgment
Seat of Christ where a particular account will be taken
of all the offices of Charityin which we have
a bounded towards our poor Brethen and a peculiar
reward conferred on those whose have with fidelity and
Zeal performed themIn Confidence that you
will diligently attend this good work you are now admitted
a Governour of the hospitals of Bridewell & Bethlem
Upon Reading whereof this Court doth approve of the same
and It is Ordered that the said Charge be printed
and Sent to each of the present Governours and that the same
be read and given to each Governour that shall hereafter be
admitted
