proposed a form of instruccons to be given to the apprtices
in this hospital which was read as followes vizt.

Instructions for the Apprentices in the Hospital
of Bridewell London You Shall constantly and devoutly
every morning and evening in the most Humble manner
upon your knees worshipp God and Say your prayers in
private by your Selfe. And when you Shall have leisure
from your Masters business, and Shall have your Masters
leave you Shall goe to the publick prayers of the Church &
there behave your Selfe devoutly and decently. You shall
carefully attend to the Sermons on the Lord's day's and
endeavour to fix them upon your mind-and be sure to
practise them in your life and conversation. You Shall
reverence and obey your Superviors and Governors. You
Shall doe diligent and faithfull Service to your Master
for the time of your Apprentice Ship and deal truely in
what you Shall be trusted You Shall alwayes avoid
evill Company, and all occasions that may draw you
thereunto and make Speedy returne when you Shall
be Sent on your Master's or Mistresse's Errands you
Shall avoid idleness and be ever employed either in
God's Service or in your masters business. You shall
be of fair gentle and lowly Speech & behaviour to all
men, and according to your carriage expect your reward
for good or ill from God and your friends But for yor
better help & instruccon to the performance of your
duty. you Shall doe well as often to read. & Seriously to
consider of the Holy Scripture, So in particular those passages therein
which direct Servants how to behave themselves, Some few
thereof are here inserted, and in Special recommended to
your frequent perusal and practice Ephesians the Sixth
Chapter Ver: 5.6.7.8Colossians the third Chapter Ver: 22
23.24.25.1. Epist to Timothy the Sixth Chapter Ver 2;3.
