depos'd, That on the 13th of June in the Night-time he met three Men, whom he thought proper to examine, on Account that one of them had a Sack on his Shoulder, in which he said, was a Pair of Grates; but this Deponent desirous of further Satisfaction, demanded to see it, which they refusing, a Quarrel began, and some Blows; at which Time a Constable and two Watchmen came to his Assistance, who took the Prisoner, and the Lead in a Sack, both which they carried to Covent-Garden Watch-house, but neither of them could say the Lead was taken on the Prisoner, neither did it appear to the Court that he was really guilty; but as he affirm'd might possibly fall into their Company by Accident, and he giving some Reasons to further this Belief, the Jury <rs id="t17270705-1-verdict5" type="verdictDescription"> <interp inst="t17270705-1-verdict5" type="verdictCategory" value="notGuilty"></interp>
