Elizabeth Smith, 34 years old, of Dublin is the widow of a man, who formerly kept a Leather Cutter's shop in that City; & afterwards a Public House, in which after his decease she failed. She has been in London 12 months and obtained a Place of service with a lodger in Mr. Rippon's house, St. George's Place. She did not stay there long. She afterwards lived with Mrs. Bickers in the public line in Little Windmill street, whence she was dismissed on suspicion of her having been involved in some depredations upon her mistress' Property by some of her relations. Being reduced to want she stole a shawl from a shop in Holborn - was apprehended - in Newgate 8 weeks - tried & sentenced to 2 months imprisonment in the House of Correction Cold Bath fields, whence she was discharged with the above Eliza Halliwell on Tuesday last. They have since been supported by the master & secretary of this Institution; the former having given them 1/6 each; the latter 2/. Admitted pro tempore.
