That the Highways Cause ways and Pavement to be repaired<lb></lb>
by the said Parish are now so broken & out of repair that they cannot be sufficiently<lb></lb>
amended and repaired for this present year 1746 commencing from Christmas last at less<lb></lb>
Charge than Four hundred Pounds and upwards which may be raised by a Rate not<lb></lb>
exceeding Two pence in the Pound<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
upon the Inhabitants Owners & occupiers<lb></lb>
of Lands Houses Tenements & Hereditament within said Parish.</p>
<p n="33">Your Petitioners therefore Humbly pray this Court will<lb></lb>
please to Grant them an Order to enable your Petitioners<lb></lb>
to make a Rate or Assessment not exceeding Two Pence in the<lb></lb>
Pound upon all and every the Inhabitants of the said Parish<lb></lb>
for repairing the said Highways Cause way said pavements<lb></lb>
as by the Statute in that case is made and provided.</p>
