<p n="4">UPON Complaint made to this Court, that Divers of<lb></lb>
the <rs type="occupation" id="LMWJPS65367_occ4">Petty Constables</rs>
<interp inst="LMWJPS65367_occ4" type="occupation" value="Petty Constables"></interp>
of this City and Liberty, have<lb></lb>
neglected, and do neglect, to put up and six upon the Out-<lb></lb>
side and Front of their Houses next the Street, a painted<lb></lb>
Staff or Lath, denoting him to be a Constable, with his<lb></lb>
Christian and Surname in large Letters, in Contempt and<lb></lb>
Breach of a former Order of this Court made for that Pur-<lb></lb>
pose. It is thought fit and order'd by this Court, that all<lb></lb>
and every the Constables and Headboroughs of this City<lb></lb>
and Liberty, now and for the Time being, do forthwith,<lb></lb>
and so from Time to time, as they shall be appointed and<lb></lb>
sworn into the said Office, put up and six upon the Outside<lb></lb>
and Front of their Houses next the Street, to be plainly<lb></lb>
seen, a painted Staff or Lath, two Foot long at least, deno-<lb></lb>
ting him to be a Constable, and also their Christain and Sur-<lb></lb>
names, painted in large Letters upon a Board also two Foot<lb></lb>
long, fixed over their Doors; to the End the Inhabitants of<lb></lb>
this City and Liberty, and all other Persons concerned, may<lb></lb>
the more readily know where to apply for a Constable, when<lb></lb>

.And it is further Ordered, that the Clerk<lb></lb>
of the Peace of this Liberty, or his Deputy, do forthwith<lb></lb>
cause this Order to be printed, and that a sufficient Number<lb></lb>
of Copies thereof, be delivered to the High and Petty Con-<lb></lb>
stables of this City and Liberty, to the End, that due Notice<lb></lb>
may be taken thereof, and that no Person concerned in the<lb></lb>
Execution of this Order, may pretend Ignorance.</p>
