<p n="3">Minutes of last Grand Comittee Read and<lb></lb>
Approved.</p>
<p n="4">Ordered that the Matter relating to the Surgeons<lb></lb>
and Apothecarys Pupills be now taken into<lb></lb>
Consideration</p>
<p n="5">Mr. Treasurer acquainted the Committee The<lb></lb>
the Surgeons have much exceeded the Number of<lb></lb>
pupills Allowed them by the Orders of the General<lb></lb>
Court of the 17th. of March 1702.</p>
<p n="6">By those Orders made when there were only<lb></lb>
Three Surgeons They were to have no more than<lb></lb>
Three a peice Unless by Special Licence from the<lb></lb>
Comittee or Treasurer But now when there are<lb></lb>
Four Surgeons they have about Eight a peice<lb></lb>
none of whom have been Licenced by this<lb></lb>
Comittee or by him.</p>
<p n="7">That the Apothecary is Allowed only Two<lb></lb>
Pupills but he has now Three.</p>
<p n="8">The said Orders of the 17th. March 1702. And<lb></lb>
also the Orders relating to the Apothecarys Pupills<lb></lb>
were read.</p>
<p n="9">The late Treasurer Mr. Cole (being present)<lb></lb>
Informed this Comittee That he had some times<lb></lb>
Consented to Licence a Greater number of Pupills<lb></lb>
for the Surgeons and Apothecary than the<lb></lb>
Orders did Allow being authorized so to do by the proviso in the said Orders But that for a Considerable<lb></lb>
time before he Resigned the place of Treasurer<lb></lb>
being of Opinion The Numbers of the Surgeons<lb></lb>
Pupills were grown to great He had for borne to<lb></lb>
Licence any of them And that none of their<lb></lb>
present Pupills were Licenced by him.</p>
<p n="10">The Four Surgeons Mr. Ferne Mr. Paul Mr Chisseldon<lb></lb>
and Mr. Tanner were called in and Heard relating<lb></lb>
to this Affaire They Acknowledged they had<lb></lb>
exceeded the Number of Three Pupills for Each</p>
