Stock it for I had lent the greatest part of my mony as I thought into very<lb></lb>

cannot get it in now & am afraid I never shall get it at all I therefore<lb></lb>
humbly beg that you would be pleased to excuse me from having the<lb></lb>
Farme for this great dissappointment makes me so very uneasy that<lb></lb>
I am not capable of doing my business & I thought it mere proper to<lb></lb>
acquaint you with my present Circumstance now then that you<lb></lb>
should find it so in a Year or two's time for I think that may do<lb></lb>
your Farme a discredit as well as ruin me</p>

St. Thomas's Hospl. 13o. Decemb:</p>
<p n="264">On the 2d. instant Mr: Eniver came to an Agreement with us<lb></lb>
for Clay Tye Farme & since wrote me a Letter of which above is a<lb></lb>
coppy I did not take him to be so weak a man as to imagine so<lb></lb>
Superficial a pretence wou'd not be seen thro' And I did not take<lb></lb>
him to be so injudicious as to make a bargain one day & repeat of<lb></lb>
if the next Had he been over reached or otherwise ill used he might<lb></lb>
have had reason to complain but as there is no such thing in the<lb></lb>
Case he must in all reason stand to his bargain I perceive he is<lb></lb>
afraid of the usual Covenant to maintain & uphold for fear of fire<lb></lb>
whereas the hazard of that is so small that it is to be insured for<lb></lb>
about ten or twelve Shillings a Year or thereabts. So that he frights<lb></lb>
himselfe abt. nothing if he has a mind to speak abt. any matters<lb></lb>
we shall have a Committee on Wednesday next at ten or eleven<lb></lb>
o clock And when you come to town I shou'd be glad to see you<lb></lb>
to talke abt. Setting forward the buildings & matters agreed to be<lb></lb>

you here yesterday for I told you it is time to be thinking<lb></lb>
of the Buildings & what else is to be done at Clay Tye<lb></lb>
Farme: I hear that Mr. Enever is not yet gone thither<lb></lb>
but neglects the Land, he knows he is under Articles</p>

Committee next Wednesday morning, & if he hath<lb></lb>
anything to say, it will be a proper times to be here<lb></lb>
