This comes by Order of the Grand Committee of this Hospitall to<lb></lb>
Acquaint you, That upon their view of the Houses & Buildings<lb></lb>
in Kent Street lately in Lease to you, They found the Same<lb></lb>
exceedingly out of Repaire, and Some part in a ruinous<lb></lb>
Condicon, the pavement in the Street very defective, and<lb></lb>
the Tenants under presentments for not mending it, And<lb></lb>
what is very Strange, The Pump which should Supply the<lb></lb>
Tenants with Water, has been Suffered to be wholly useless<lb></lb>
for Some considerable time, only for want of laying out a<lb></lb>
little money upon it. Friday last some of the Governors<lb></lb>
were there again, And sent to the Tenants for the Quarters<lb></lb>
Rent due to the Hospitall at Lady day: They all in Generall<lb></lb>
made Great complaints, that they could not lye dry in their<lb></lb>
Beds, when it Raines, and that their Houses were not<lb></lb>
Tenantable</p>
<p n="116">The Governors did not expect you would have<lb></lb>
permitted their Houses to be in Such a Condicon Sr. at the<lb></lb>
end of your Lease, But since it is so, They as Trustees<lb></lb>
for the Poor look upon themselves obliged to Require<lb></lb>
from you full Satisfaccon for it.</p>
<p n="117">In order to Settle this Satisfaccon, upon Notice to<lb></lb>
me, you will be mett by some of the Governors to try<lb></lb>
if it may be done without a Law Suite. If this method<lb></lb>
be neglected I am Ordered by the Committee to make out<lb></lb>
Processe against you;</p>
