held in and for this County Exhibit his petition and Appeal setting forth That the Petitioner was a<lb></lb>
Coachmaster residing at the Plough <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50934_geo85">Newport Street</rs>

in the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50934_geo86">County of Middlesex</rs>

and employed among<lb></lb>
other carriages a Coach Licenced by the Commissioners for regulating Hackney Coaches and Chairs<lb></lb>
No. 545 for which he paid to Government a duty of £26 per Annum. That the Petitioner was on or<lb></lb>
about the 18th. day of August last Summoned before <rs type="persName" id="LMSMPS50934_n117-2">John Spiller</rs>

Esqr. one of His Majestys <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMPS50934_occ30">Justices of<lb></lb>
the peace</rs>

for the said County for keeping and employing a certain Coach as a public Stage Coach for<lb></lb>
the purpose of conveying Passengers for here to and from different places within the Kingdom of Great<lb></lb>
Britain to wit to <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50934_geo87">Piccadilly</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50934_geo87" type="placeName" value="Piccadilly"></interp>
<interp inst="LMSMPS50934_geo87" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
from Fulham without having as was alledged first obtained a Licence for<lb></lb>
that purpose in manner prescribed by the Statute in that Case made and provided. That it<lb></lb>
appeared in Evidence before the said Magistrate that the Coach so complained of for having been<lb></lb>
worked as a Stage Coach within the distance aforesaid was one the same identical Coach for which<lb></lb>
the Commissioners for Licencing and Regulating Hackney Coaches and Chairs had granted the<lb></lb>
Petitioner a Licence to work within certain districts under their Authority or Jurisdiction and for<lb></lb>
which he paid the said duty of £26 per Annum and that such Coach was worked within such<lb></lb>
district only. That the said Magistrate notwithstanding such Evidence Convicted the petitioner of<lb></lb>
the Offence stated in such Summons and ordered him to pay the penalty improved by the said<lb></lb>
Act when Petitioner entored into a Recognizance in order to Appeal against such Conviction<lb></lb>
whereby the Petitioner conceived himself aggrieved. which said Appeal stood duly adjourned<lb></lb>
until this Session. Now upon hearing the said Appeal and what hath been alledged by the<lb></lb>
Respective parties their Counsel and Witness in and concerning the premises It is<lb></lb>
Ordered that the said Conviction be and same is hereby Quashed</p>
