been made for those purposes in the County of <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50809_geo1783">Lancaster</rs>

<p n="2046">THAT Irish Vagrants have been shipped from <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50809_geo1784">Park-gate</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMPS50809_geo1784" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
, and maintained<lb></lb>
there in a House, which is provided for their reception, upon the following<lb></lb>
terms, viz. 1½d. per day, besides an allowance for necessaries for each Vagrant,<lb></lb>
while maintained at the said House, and 2s.4d. for bread, boatage and freight<lb></lb>
for each Vagrant when put on board, and in addition to these charges the Per-<lb></lb>
son employed to receive, maintain and keep such Vagrants, brings in a quar-<lb></lb>
terly Bill for straw, coals, victuals and necessaries for sick Vagrants, and<lb></lb>
other expences, which are allowed him each Sessions, and paid out of the<lb></lb>
Public Stock for the said <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50809_geo1785">county of Chester</rs>

, was 102. That the Masters of vessels sailing<lb></lb>

, have, during the year, ending at Michaelmas 1784,<lb></lb>
carried over 1170, and have not hitherto refused to take over such Vagrants<lb></lb>
as have been ordered to be put on board their vessels, although the number<lb></lb>
has, during the above period, exceeded by 1068 the proportion they were<lb></lb>
under the Act of Parliament obliged to take according to the amount o their<lb></lb>
Tonnage.</p>
<p n="2048">THAT Irish vagrants coming by Passes into, or apprehended in the County<lb></lb>
of <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50809_geo1796">Lancaster</rs>

, have been usually shipped from <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50809_geo1797">Liverpool</rs>

, and maintained and<lb></lb>
lodged in a Barn or House there kept for their Reception, at the Public Ex-<lb></lb>
pence of the Inhabitants of the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50809_geo1798">County of Lancaster</rs>

day during the time the Vagrants wait for shipping, and 3s.6d. for freight<lb></lb>
and sea store for each Vagrant, when sent on board.</p>
<p n="2049">THAT there are four Packets which statedly said form Liverpool to Dublin<lb></lb>
of 240 tons burden in the whole, and they made altogether 91 trips in <lb></lb>
the Year 1783, and 93 trips in the year 1784 to <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50809_geo1799">Dublin</rs>

, and the total amount<lb></lb>
of their burden being 5520 tons, upon an average of the years 1783 and 1784,<lb></lb>

take over was 276 per annum upon an average of the said years 1783 and<lb></lb>
1784, but the Masters of such Packets have hitherto taken over all the Va-<lb></lb>
grants from <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMPS50809_geo1800">Liverpool</rs>
