on or about the Sixteenth day of Febuary last<lb></lb>

whoe told this Examinant that Old Bavin had some<lb></lb>
money in his Chest & the said Cartwright take the Chest<lb></lb>
and turn'd it upside down & this Examt heard the Money<lb></lb>
rattle therein, but the said Cartwright could not undoe<lb></lb>
the Hinges, then turn'd the Lock towards him & Said he<lb></lb>
would have it open, and took a hay forke & endeaver'd<lb></lb>
to open the lock therwith but did not, & this Examt<lb></lb>
further said that on Sunday morning the second day<lb></lb>
of March as near as this Examt can remember<lb></lb>
about Eight or Nine of the Clock this Examt & the said<lb></lb>
Cartwright were together in the Hay Loft aforesaid<lb></lb>
the said Cartwright took A Hay Fork & Wrencht the Lock<lb></lb>
of the said Chest and draw'd out two of the nailes which<lb></lb>
fasten'd on the Lock and said we must have the Box<lb></lb>
open and then this Examt imediatly Afterwards went and<lb></lb>
opened the said Chest, and took out two Shillings, one of<lb></lb>
which he gave to his mother, and the other he spent, and after<lb></lb>
this Examt had taken out the two Shillings he Called the<lb></lb>
said Cartwright and told him he had opened the Chest<lb></lb>
who<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
came & counted the money there in but this Examt<lb></lb>
did not see him take any of the money away, & this Examt<lb></lb>
further saith that Cartwright bidd him goe & get some Nailes<lb></lb>
& he would naile it up againe that there might be<lb></lb>
no Noyes about it, which this Examt did & Cartwright<lb></lb>
nailed it up acordingly</p>
