<p n="2255">Whereas by Virtue of an Act of Parliament<lb></lb>
made in the Twelfth Year of the Reign of His late Majesty King<lb></lb>
George the Second entitled "An Act for the more easy assessing<lb></lb>
Collecting and levying County Rates"; the <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55611_occ865">Justices of the Peace</rs>

<lb></lb>
in that part of Great Britain called <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55611_geo1474">England</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55611_geo1474" type="placeName" value="England"></interp>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55611_geo1474" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
within the<lb></lb>
respective Limits of their Commissions at their General<lb></lb>
or General Quarter Sessions or the greater part of them then<lb></lb>
and there Assembled were Authorized and Empowered from<lb></lb>
time to time to make one General Rate or assessment for<lb></lb>
such sum or sums of Money as the Justices in their<lb></lb>
discretion should think sufficient to Answer all and<lb></lb>
every the ends and purposes mentioned in the said Act<lb></lb>
and also by virtue of a certain other Act of Parliament<lb></lb>
made and passed in the Thirty Seventh Year of the Reign<lb></lb>
of his present Majesty King George the Third intitled "An<lb></lb>

for the County<lb></lb>

in their General or Quarter Sessions of the<lb></lb>
"peace to make a Fair and Equal County Rate for the<lb></lb>

were empowered Authorized and required from time to<lb></lb>
time to Assess and Tax all and every Parish Town<lb></lb>

said County rateably in equal proportions according<lb></lb>
to the Annual Rent or Value of Estates within such<lb></lb>
Parish Town Liberty Precinct Village Hamlet and<lb></lb>
Place respectively. And in Order the better to enable<lb></lb>

proportions all and every such Parishes Towns Liberties<lb></lb>

and Overseers of the poor of the said several Parishes<lb></lb>
Towns Liberties Precincts Villages Hamlets and Places<lb></lb>
were by the said Act required to make a Return in Writing<lb></lb>
upon Oath to the said Justices in Session assembled of the<lb></lb>
Total Amount of the Rental or Value of the Estates within<lb></lb>
the Parish Town Liberty Precinct Village Hamlet or<lb></lb>
Place to which they should respectively belong Now<lb></lb>
forasmuch as it appeareth unto this Court that</p>
