<p n="2156">Your Committee therefore Ordered the following steps and precautions to be<lb></lb>
pursued Vizt.</p>
<p n="2157">That all the Beds in the Sick Ward of <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55610_geo1799">Clerkenwell Bridewell</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55610_geo1799" type="placeName" value="Clerkenwell Bridewell"></interp>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55610_geo1799" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
should be<lb></lb>
repaired and New Stuffing be supplied taking care to have the Ticking well<lb></lb>
aired.</p>
<p n="2158">That every Bed should be supplied with a New Rug where wanted<lb></lb>
and if any additional Covering may be necessary for the Sick that the same be<lb></lb>
supplied upon a Certificate from the <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55610_occ886">Apothecary</rs>

<p n="2159">It appeared to Your Committee that many of the Disorders are<lb></lb>
occasioned by the Prisoners coming in, in a weak and duplicated state of health<lb></lb>
covered with Rags and Vermin and that if some Dress or Uniform was provided<lb></lb>
for them to wear in the Prison it might be the means of preventing many of<lb></lb>
the Disorders incident to Prisons; It was therefore the opinion of this Commee<lb></lb>
That a Dress consisting of a Jacket and Trousers and a pair of Shoes and<lb></lb>
Two shirts where it may be necessary be provided for the Men and that a<lb></lb>
Jacket and Petticoat and Shoes and two Shifts for the Women be also provided.</p>
<p n="2160">That it be requested of Mr Staples to provide the above Necessaries upon<lb></lb>
a Certificate from the <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55610_occ887">Apothecary</rs>

<p n="2161">And Your Committee further Resolved, That the Cloaths in which<lb></lb>
the Prisoners come in should be Baked, numbered, and laid by where necessary<lb></lb>
and the Governor to take care when the Prisoners first come in that they be<lb></lb>
Washed and cleansed and properly cleared from Fifth and Vermin,and if the<lb></lb>
present Bath will not answer that a temporary Bath or Bathing Tub be<lb></lb>
provided and that the Oil of Jar be used in such way as the Apothecary shall<lb></lb>
direct.</p>
<p n="2162">That the same Resolutions extend to the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55610_geo1800">New Prison</rs>

so far as<lb></lb>
the same are necessary.</p>
<p n="2163">All which the Committee Submit Etc</p>
<p n="2164">Ordered that the said Report be Received and Confirmed and that<lb></lb>
the several Articles in the said Report directed and recommended for the use<lb></lb>
of the Prisoners be forthwith provided and that the said Committee do meet on<lb></lb>
Saturday next and see the same carried into execution.</p>
<p n="2165">Mr Harwood the Governor of the House of Correction having informed the<lb></lb>
Court that he had in consequence of what passed on Thursday provided some<lb></lb>
Cloaths for the Prisoners in his Custody and which was immediately necessary.</p>
<p n="2166">Ordered that Mr Harwood and Mr. Newport do supply what may be<lb></lb>
immediately necessary for the use of the Sick Prisoners in their custody respectively.</p>
<p n="2167">Ordered that Mr Wood do forthwith erect a chimney in the Sick Ward of <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55610_geo1801">Clerkenwell</rs>
