Prisoners complaining of the unhealthiness of the Prison called the House<lb></lb>

directed Mr Chamberlayne who had for some time past officiated for Mr<lb></lb>

to attend the Court, who informed the Court that he<lb></lb>
attends the Prison daily, that there are several Persons in <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55610_geo1784">Clerkenwell</rs>

Sick of Fevers that there are Thirty two Men on the Mens side<lb></lb>
and Seven Women on the Womens side afflicted with Fevers but that in <lb></lb>
his Opinion there is not any putrid or Gaol Fever in <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55610_geo1786">Clerkenwell Bridewell</rs>

That the great number of Persons stowed in a small space like the Sick<lb></lb>
Ward tends to increase the complaint as some have relapsed by staying<lb></lb>
there when recovered but that several who are well enough to go down<lb></lb>
have not Cloaths to cover them. That they have not proper Bed Cloaths<lb></lb>
in the Sick Ward and that there is no other want or deficiency every thing<lb></lb>
being furnished which he directs to be procured for the use of the Sick.</p>
<p n="2140">Ordered that if any Persons be at this time detained in the <lb></lb>

for Fees only they be immediatly discharged</p>
<p n="2141">Resolved that those who are destitute of Cloathing be immediately<lb></lb>
supplied with such Cloathing as may be necessary in the cheapest manner.</p>
<p n="2142">Resolved that a Committee of the Gentlemen present do<lb></lb>
meet on Saturday next at 12 o Clock to consider the state of the Prisoners<lb></lb>
with respect to Health and Cloathing.</p>
<p n="2143">That Mr.Gibbs and Mr.Chamberlayne his Assistant be<lb></lb>
ordered to attend the said Committee.</p>
