<p n="1985">Receiving the Money upon them and that in this way the most pernicious <lb></lb>
mode of Insuring is carried on to a great extent, and the penalties expressed<lb></lb>
in the several Acts of Parliament made and now in force against such<lb></lb>
illegal Insurances and Dealing in Chances more easily evaded This<lb></lb>
Court doth therefore give Notice to and warn all Persons Licensed to keep<lb></lb>
Alehouses or common Victualling Houses within the said County not to<lb></lb>
permit or suffer such illegal and pernicious practices to be carried on in their<lb></lb>
Houses Outhouses or any part of their Premises, but to be vigilant and to<lb></lb>
use their utmost endeavours to prevent the same, and to bring Offenders<lb></lb>
who shall be guilty of such illegal proceedings to Justice: And that no<lb></lb>
Licensed Alehouse Keepers or Victuallers may be unacquainted with their<lb></lb>
situation in this respect, it is thought proper to observe that by the terms of<lb></lb>
the Recognizance entered into by them at the time of their Licences granted<lb></lb>
they are bound to keep and maintain good Order and Rule and to suffer no<lb></lb>
Disorders or unlawful Games to be used in their Houses, Out Houses or<lb></lb>
Premises; and that by a Statute made in the Twenty sixth year of his late<lb></lb>

the Second It is amongst other things Enacted That<lb></lb>
any Justice of the Peace of any County wherein such License shall be granted<lb></lb>
upon complaint that such Licensed Person hath committed any Act or<lb></lb>
<rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55610_occ817">Misdemeanour</rs>

, whereby the Recognizance may be forfeited or the condition<lb></lb>
broken may by Summons under his Hand and Seal require the Person so<lb></lb>
complained of to appear at the next General or Quarter Session to answer<lb></lb>
the matter of such complaint; and if it shall be found at such Session that the<lb></lb>
Person complained of hath done any Act whereby the condition of his Recognizer<lb></lb>
is broken, the Court shall adjudge such Person Guilty of the Breach of such<lb></lb>
Recognizance and order the same to be Estreated into the Exchequer; and the<lb></lb>
person, the condition of whose Recognizance shall be adjudged to be broken<lb></lb>
and forfeited, shall be utterly disabled to sell any Ale Beer or Spiritous<lb></lb>
Liquors for the space of Three years, and any Licence granted or to be granted<lb></lb>
to such Person during such term shall be void and of none effect.</p>
