<p n="145">It appearing upon enquiry that the basis of the Prisoner<lb></lb>
Labour will be Hemp that suitable Provisions ought to be made<lb></lb>
for the picking of Oakum and the conduct of other parts of that Labo<obscured></obscured>

<p n="146">That the Prison be encompassed by a detached Wall</p>
<p n="147">That the House of the Governour be near the entrance of <obscured></obscured>
<lb></lb>
Prison and within the detached Wall</p>
<p n="148">That the Lodges of the Turnkeys be in the center of the Prison<lb></lb>
so that the Turnkeys may be ready to give the necessary access to<lb></lb>
the different parts of the Prison and observe the conduct of the prison</p>
<p n="149">And the Committee having perused a Resolution of Court<lb></lb>
come to at the last July Session whereby it appears the Court age<lb></lb>
with a Committee before then appointed "To enquire whether any<lb></lb>
of Ground can be had in the vicinity of the Session house proper for<lb></lb>
the erection of a House of Correction and upon what terms" in their<lb></lb>
opinion that part of the Scite of the present <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55609_geo47">Bridewell</rs>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55609_geo47" type="placeName" value="Bridewell"></interp>
<interp inst="LMSMGO55609_geo47" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
with the<lb></lb>
Garden thereto belonging the Garden behind the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55609_geo48">New Prison</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMGO55609_geo48" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
and<lb></lb>
another piece of Ground and sundry Buildings erected on past<lb></lb>
thereof at present on Lease to the people called Quakers from the<lb></lb>
<rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55609_geo49">County of Middlesex</rs>

<interp inst="LMSMGO55609_geo49" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
will be convenient for the purpose and<lb></lb>
sufficiently large to produce every effect required</p>
<p n="150">It is the Opinion of this Committee that the Ground<lb></lb>
approved of by the Court as sufficiently large for the purpose of<lb></lb>
erecting a House of Correction thereon is not sufficiently large for<lb></lb>
the erection of a House of Correction according to the Resolutions and<lb></lb>
Instructions agreed to by this Committee for the Accommodation<lb></lb>
of Five Hundred Persons and the other purposes mentioned in<lb></lb>
the said Resolutions and according to the direction of the <obscured></obscured>
<lb></lb>
of Parliament</p>
