for the said Prison without any communication<lb></lb>
therewith except by a Wicket as in the other Goal and that as the<lb></lb>
Gate and Wall seems necessary to be rebuilt that two additional<lb></lb>
Rooms may be Erected over the same for Night charges Etc.in <obscured></obscured>

of those now proposed to be appropriated to the Tap and that the<lb></lb>
Keepers Lodge may also be placed under the said Rooms the<lb></lb>
Exhence of which necessary and useful alteration will not exceed<lb></lb>
the Sum of £150 wherefore the Committee Seriously recommend<lb></lb>
that the Court do agree to this Resolution as it will lend greatly to<lb></lb>
the better regulation of the said Goal by keeping the Prisoners from<lb></lb>
from the temptation of Liquor and thence more awoke to their<lb></lb>
Situation</p>
<p n="342">The said Committee Report that having<lb></lb>
reassumed the Consideration of an Act of Parliament passed in the<lb></lb>
fourteenth Year of his present Majestys Reign intituled An Act<lb></lb>
"for the Relief of prisoners charged with felony or other Crimes who Sh<obscured></obscured>
<lb></lb>
"be acquitted or discharged by Proclamation respecting the Payment of<lb></lb>
"fees to Goalers and giving a recompence for such fees out of the Court<lb></lb>
"Rates" and the benefit which the Justices Goalers and others have<lb></lb>
claim be under the same which said Act was recommitted at the<lb></lb>
last Session the Committee are of Opinion that the Fee due to the Keep<obscured></obscured>

Relief of Prisoners charged with felony Etc. or who are not otherwise<lb></lb>
Exempt from the payment of Fees be raised from 5/6 to 77 and<lb></lb>
that this increase is in lieu of any Sallary or other annual<lb></lb>
Allowance from the County to the said Keeper of <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55607_geo371">Clerkenwell</rs>

the Confirmation of the aforesaid Resolution by the Court</p>
