Esquire the Members for the County and Lord Warkworth and the Honorable Mr. Sandys<lb></lb>
the Members for Westmr. St. William Beauchamp Proctor undertook to present it<lb></lb>
It was also agreed that Petitions to the same Effect as that of the Justices should be<lb></lb>
Preferred by the several Hundreds of the County and directions were given to prepare<lb></lb>
such Sr William Beauchamp Proctor then went to the House immediately and<lb></lb>
Presented the Petition and it was refer'd to the Committee to which the former petitions<lb></lb>
stood referred. In a few days after the other Petitions to the number of twelve<lb></lb>
came in and they were all referr'd in like manner as the former, Before the<lb></lb>
breaking up of this Committee it was moved that the Management of the County<lb></lb>
opposition should be refer'd to a committee and accordingly a committee of seven,<lb></lb>

<p n="193">Of the proceedings of this Committee from day to day minutes were<lb></lb>
taken by the Clerks attending it and of those Minutes a Copy is to be found among<lb></lb>
the Papers relating to this Matter in the Custody of the <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55605_occ165">Clerk of the peace</rs>

at the<lb></lb>
first sitting the Managers for the County procured an order for producing the<lb></lb>
Charter of Confirmation of Chas. 2d. on acot of sums paid into the Chamber of<lb></lb>
London for Sheriffs fines an account of monies received by the Duty on Coals<lb></lb>
under the Statute of 19th. Chas. 2d. and an Account of monies received by sale of<lb></lb>
the Materials of such of the City Gates as had then lately been pull'd down<lb></lb>
By their particulars which the City were very unwilling to have produced<lb></lb>
it appeared that they had received for Sheriffs Fines from the Year 1672 only<lb></lb>
£130,550 By total produce of the Impost on Coals £736,804..9..2 By<lb></lb>
produce of Materials of the City Gates £794. total, 868..148.9.2</p>
<p n="194">And that they had Coverted the Seite of Ludgate into a <rs type="occupation" id="LMSMGO55605_occ166">Freehold</rs>

Estate which they had let on a Building Lease at £70 a year with a fine<lb></lb>
of £496 payable every fourteen years It appd. likewise that the City had<lb></lb>

from fire on the Building and lately received a Sum of £500, on that<lb></lb>
