<p n="130">That the Supplying necessary Relief to proper Objects in <lb></lb>
the said Prison occasionally upon the Report or Application of <lb></lb>
the Keeper will not Cause any Considerable Expence to this<lb></lb>
County there being few Prisoners Committed to his Custody as <lb></lb>
he readily declared but are able to Support themselves or have<lb></lb>
Friends that Visit and relieve them and that those few either <lb></lb>
by his own Assistance or some other Friendly means have been<lb></lb>
Subsisted in a Tolerable manner In as much as none have<lb></lb>
Perished or been in Extreain Want and during his whole <lb></lb>
Keepership there hath not been any Mortality but the Prisoners <lb></lb>
have Continued in a good State of Health.</p>
<p n="131">That a Competent Saving for this Purpose might be made out <lb></lb>
of the Allowances to the Prisoners in the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSMGO55605_geo122">House of Correction</rs>

(the Annual Charges whereof is 70 or £80.) if those able were<lb></lb>
to be kept Strictly to Labour for their own Support (as it is in the<lb></lb>
indispensible Duty of the Governor to keep them to and an Obligation <lb></lb>
on the Majistrates to see performed) and that none but those <lb></lb>
who work and who are Poor and friendless should have the<lb></lb>
Allowance agreeable to the True Sense of the Legislature <lb></lb>
as well for the Correcting their Morals as for the Ease of the<lb></lb>
County in Point of Charge Whereas the Daily Allowance of <lb></lb>
Bread is now distributed without distinction whereby those who <lb></lb>
are nowise the Objects of the benevolent Intention of the Sessions <lb></lb>
are equal Partakers with them that are</p>
<p n="132">That if three a four Justices whom it best Suited or by turns were <lb></lb>
Appointed by the Sessions to Continue as a Committee to Superintend<lb></lb>
the Government of both the said Prisons to see the severall Acts <lb></lb>
of Parliament and Orders of Court punctually Executed and to<lb></lb>
receive the Occasionel Applications of the Keepers and give<lb></lb>
them Assistance and direction from Time to Time it would <lb></lb>
be productive of good Effect to this County more Especially with<lb></lb>
