Setsforth that by virtue of in Order or Pass Want. July executed bearing date<lb></lb>

Margaret Betten a Singlewoman was removed the<lb></lb>
Respondents parish to the Appellants the last Legal Settlement of the said Better being<lb></lb>
adjudged to be these By which order the Appellants conceived themselves aggrieved and<lb></lb>
therefore Appealed agt. the same and prayed that the same might be vucaled and set aside<lb></lb>
And that Appellants night have such other Releife in the pumes as shall seen meet.</p>
<p n="571">The Appeal by Cement of Parties as well as on Account of Multiplicity of<obscured></obscured>
has not<lb></lb>
yet been heard But it is aged it will be argued this day to avoid further Expence & Alderman thereon</p>
<p n="572">Case</p>
<p n="573">The only Question that can Arise on this Appeal is whether Margt. Betten the Person named<lb></lb>
in the Pass Warrant lived in the Appellants parish 12 Months or not</p>
<p n="574">The said Margt. Betten is a Person of Weak Intellects And it is apprehended the person of her<lb></lb>
being passed to the Appellants parish was occaioned by her having sworne before the Lord Mayor that<lb></lb>
she had lived with Mr Spior in Appellants parish for upwards of 12 Months which Oath we hope & feloise<lb></lb>
was not taken from a Wicked principle but occasioned by a defective Memory But we doult not the<lb></lb>
following proofes will rectify the defort and the Appellants prayer be granted.</p>

time out as a Servt. but an Object of Compassion Dept. Wife knowing her & willing to keep her<lb></lb>
till she could hear of a place) till the latter end of Augt. or beginning of Septr. following the<lb></lb>
speaks with certainty as to the time having had a Feat for his Journeymen at the three<lb></lb>

to Mrs. Spier Corroborates Mr Roberts<lb></lb>
Acct. as to the time of Betten coming to Mr. Spiers service and from the following Occasions<lb></lb>
she remember that she did not come till abt. a Month or Six Weeks after the Militia were drawn<lb></lb>
out at Mr. Spier Door which was a the 20 July 1773 And hat a few days before Mrs. Spier was<lb></lb>
delivered of her Child and on which occasion Betten was lived at Dept. recommendition taken<lb></lb>
from Mr. Roberts and Mrs. Spiers Child was born the 10 Septr. 1773 To prove this (all Mrs. Rose Hamlen</p>
<p n="578">No: We have proofe of the time of the Militia drawn out the Childs Birth.</p>
<p n="579"> <lb></lb>
Mr. & Mrs. Spier will sweas to the best of their remember that Betten did not live with them<lb></lb>
more than 11 Months And we have Better receipt in full for 11 Months Wages child was all that<lb></lb>
was pd. by Spier to her And though the Recet bears date 30 Augt. 1774 she was discharged the letter<lb></lb>
and of July 1774 but Mr. Spier on Account of his Circumstance, was about<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
at that time or<lb></lb>
his return paid her & take her Reced the day he pd. though she had been discharged as afsd.<lb></lb>
Mr. & Mrs. Spier have left the parish to become Component Witness To prove this Call for<obscured></obscured>
Mr. and Mrs. Spier</p>
<p n="580">It is apprenheded the Respondents will endeavour to prove that Betten whout immediately from their Workhouse<lb></lb>
seen after Easter 1773 to Mr. Spiers service should said him of proofe be offered it to decited you would<obscured></obscured>
