the Owners of the said Salt And these Deponents the said<lb></lb>
Joseph Fletcher and John Stott for themselves severally say that on or about the<lb></lb>
Nineteenth Day of the said Month of December the said Ship or Vessell with<lb></lb>
the said Salt on Board her set Sail from Liverpool for the said Port of London<lb></lb>
and that in the Course of her Voyage to London on the seventh Day of February<lb></lb>
last past the said Ship or Vessell met with very violent and stormy Weather<lb></lb>
at Sea near the Islands of Scilly and drove on a Ledge of Rocks in the said<lb></lb>
Islands notwithstanding those Deponents and the Rest of the Ships Crew<lb></lb>
used their utmost Endeavours to prevent the same And these Deponents further<lb></lb>
severally say that in Consequence of a Signal of Distress many Persons came<lb></lb>
in Boats from Shore and from another Ship in Harbour there on Board the<lb></lb>
said Ship or Vessel and they these Deponents and the Rest of the said Ships<lb></lb>
Crew with the said Persons who came to their Assistance did all in their<lb></lb>
Power to heave the said Ship or Vessel off the said Rocks but were not<lb></lb>
able to effect the same by Means whereof the said Ship or Vessel on the<lb></lb>
Ebb of the Water from her lay on her Starboard Side and afterwards in the<lb></lb>
Night of the said Seventh Day of February by the said Violent and Stormy<lb></lb>
Weather the said Ship or Vessel fell over almost on her Beam Ends on the<lb></lb>
Larboar'd Side and soon afterwards filled full of Water by Means<lb></lb>
whereof and by the said violent and Stormy Weather the said Six Thousand<lb></lb>
Bushells of Salt were lost at Sea And these Deponents further severally say<lb></lb>
that the Loss of the said Salt was not occasioned by any Leekage of the</p>
