That by a Rate or Assessment made on the 15th. Day of<lb></lb>
November 1750. for the Relief of the Poor of the Parish of Christ-<lb></lb>
Church London for 13 Weeks commencing from the 15th. Day of July<lb></lb>
then last past to the 14th. Day October exclusive And by another<lb></lb>
like Relief for 13 Weeks commencing from the 14th. Day of October then<lb></lb>
last past Your Petitioners were Rated and Assessed towards the said<lb></lb>
Relief for and in respect of 7. Houses Demolish'd by the said Hospital<lb></lb>
and the Ground whereon they stood Converted into she Garden of the<lb></lb>
Treasurer of the said Hospital And also for and in Respect of 5. other<lb></lb>
Houses demolish'd and a Sick Ward built on the Ground whereon the<lb></lb>
same 5. Houses Stood.</p>
<p n="144">That the Ground whereon the said Severall Houses So demolish'd as<lb></lb>
aforesd. Stood was formerly part of the <rs type="placeName" id="LMSLPS15063_geo142">Grey Friers</rs>

<interp inst="LMSLPS15063_geo142" type="type" value="undefined"></interp>
, and has from the time<lb></lb>
of the Foundation of the said Hospital (which was near 200 Years ago)<lb></lb>
belonged thereto and lyes within the said <rs type="placeName" id="LMSLPS15063_geo143">Parish of Christ Church</rs>

<p n="145">That as the Houses and Building on the said Ground Ran to<lb></lb>
Decay and as the Exigeneys & Occasions of the Hospital Required it the<lb></lb>
<rs type="occupation" id="LMSLPS15063_occ87">Governors</rs>

of the said Hospital thought proper to demolish the Sd. Houses<lb></lb>
and Buildings and to Convert the said Ground to the uses and Purposes<lb></lb>
before mentioned</p>
<p n="146">That in Regard the said Hospital is a House of Charity and the<lb></lb>
Sick Ward before mentioned is part thereof and the Garden Ground belonging<lb></lb>
they to is Occupyed by the <rs type="occupation" id="LMSLPS15063_occ88">Treasurer</rs>

for the greater Conveniency of his<lb></lb>
Residence at the said Hospital to do the Duty appertaining to this sd. Office.</p>
<p n="147">Your Petrs. therefore conceiving themselves to be<lb></lb>
Aggrieved by the said Rates do humble Appeal agt.<lb></lb>
the Same And pray your Lordship and this honoble<lb></lb>
Court to take the Premisses into Consideration and to<lb></lb>
Grand them such Relief therein as to Your Lord P.<lb></lb>
and this Honoble Court Shall Seem meet</p>
