27th day of June 1692</p>
<p n="282">This Informt: deposeth that ye same night that Dr<lb></lb>
Clinch was murdered one Mr Milward and two other<lb></lb>
men came into this Informt: house by Clemts: Inne<lb></lb>
about eight of the Clock, and in a short time ye said<lb></lb>
Milward went out againe, and stayed about a quarter<lb></lb>
of a houre, and came againe and stayed a little<lb></lb>
time in the house and then went out againe and<lb></lb>
stayed till about<del>after</del>
halfe an houre after ten of<lb></lb>
the Clock, and then came in againe and brought a<lb></lb>
Souldier and a Woman wth him, and then stayed not above<lb></lb>
a quarter of an houre but<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
paid the Recconing and<lb></lb>
went away<del>altogether</del>
wth ye two men that came first<lb></lb>
wth him, who stayed at this Informant house all ye<lb></lb>
while; and this Informt: saith that the Pson now<lb></lb>
shewed to this Informant who is called by ye name of Cole is like one of ye Psons<lb></lb>
that came wth the said Milward and stayed at<lb></lb>
this Informt. house all the time that ye said Milward<lb></lb>
went to and fro as aforesaid, And this Informt:<lb></lb>
further saith that the Sunday following the said<lb></lb>
two Pson who Stayed at this Informt. house as<lb></lb>
aforesd, came againe and Enquired for Mr Milward<lb></lb>
and called for a mugg of Drinke and said they would<lb></lb>
stay for him for that he would be there by and by,<lb></lb>
and this Informt: being above stairs his mother came<lb></lb>
upp to him and told him that the two men that<lb></lb>
were wth Mr Milward were below, but before this In-<lb></lb>
formt. mother had scarce told him that ye said Pson<lb></lb>
were<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
there but theTapster came upp and told<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
<lb></lb>
him that the said two men had paid for theire<lb></lb>
drinke and were gon, and since that time this In-<lb></lb>
formant hath not seene them or any of them</p>
