Wee the Grand Jury for the Citty of London Sworne on behalfe of our Sowaigne Lord and<lb></lb>
Lady King William and Queen Mary takeing in to our serious Consideracon the<lb></lb>
open Profanacon of the Lords day and of the too frequent use and Excesses comitted<lb></lb>
in Publick Tipling houses on the Same Not wth. standing the good and wholesome<lb></lb>
Laws and statutes made to the contrary Doe returne our harty Thankes unto<lb></lb>
your Lpp for your Lopps late order Issued forth in Octor. last Requireing the<lb></lb>
Severall Officers and Persons therein named to discharge their Duty According<lb></lb>
too Law for prventing of the same to the End the Sabbath may be the more<lb></lb>
Religiously and solemly observed And as the Remissnesse of Magistrates in<lb></lb>
the late reignes in<gap reason="illegible"></gap>
putting the said Laws in Execucon have too much<lb></lb>
contributed to promote the aforesaid Evills, most Publick houses thereby<lb></lb>
Pr. Sumeing to receive and entertain all Sorts of Persons wh. soever without<lb></lb>
any regard by wch. meanes many Persons Espetially the Youth of this Citty<lb></lb>
(and which without regrett we cannt. mencon encouraged therein by their<lb></lb>
Masrs. Example) Have on the Said Dayes as well in time of Divine Service, as<lb></lb>
before and afterwards frequented Tavernes Coffee houses and other Tipling<lb></lb>
houses to the great reproach and Scandall of the Protestant Religion and<lb></lb>
the good governmt. of this renowned Citty Wee being desireous to Prvent the<lb></lb>
Sin as well as the reproach occationed thereby Doe humbly pray your Lorpp &<lb></lb>
this Honoble. Court (and herein we doubt not of the Union and harty<lb></lb>
Concurrence of all true Protestants with us That your Lopp and this Honoble.<lb></lb>
Court will be pleased to exert your utmost power and authority to remedy ye<lb></lb>
same for the future And we doe alsoe prsent to yor. Lorpp and this Court that<lb></lb>
the permitting of Lotteryes and Publick Gaming houses And the frequent use<lb></lb>
of Sylver Bolls, Cupps and Tankards in the publick houses aforesaid are<lb></lb>
of evill consequence and contrary to the wellfare and good governmt. of<lb></lb>
this Citty And we doe pray your Lopp and this Honoble. Court to give such<lb></lb>
orders and directions herein as may effectually prvent and suppresse the<lb></lb>
same And further alsoe we pray your Lorpp and this Honoble. Court to<lb></lb>
cause the Laws effectually to put in Execucon agt. the Sin of swearing<lb></lb>
