for himself saith that about three Months ago, a<lb></lb>
Person calling himself Byron, came into Mr. Godge's<lb></lb>
Shop aforesaid and ask'd to look at some Jaish Linens,<lb></lb>
which were shewr, him, when he desired that some<lb></lb>
Linens might be sent him to his Lodgings at Mr.<lb></lb>
Stircks in Poland Street the next Morning. That the<lb></lb>
next Morning this Informant with the Assistance of a<lb></lb>
Porter carried right Pieces of Linen and several Pieces<lb></lb>
of Handkerchiefs to said Byron's Lodgings in Poland<lb></lb>
Street when said Byron made choice of four Piece<lb></lb>
of Irish Linen and twelve Handkerchief amounting<lb></lb>
in the whole to about Twenty one Pounds. That upon<lb></lb>
being told by this Informant the amount of the<lb></lb>
value of said Goods, said Byron replied "he believed<lb></lb>
he had a Bill about the Amount" and taking the<lb></lb>

Pocket, presented the same to this Informant in<lb></lb>
Payment for said Goods; observing at the same time<lb></lb>
that" he should not want any change but would<lb></lb>
take it all out in Goods" That Informant told said<lb></lb>
Byron that he could not take said Bill without<lb></lb>
first making an Inquiry about it as he did not<lb></lb>
know either of the Parties That said Byron repld.<lb></lb>
"he was very willing that every enquiry should be<lb></lb>
made before this Informant took the Bill" That this<lb></lb>
Informant asked said Byron who Mr. Mason was<lb></lb>
that was the drawer of the Bill when said Byron<lb></lb>
replied that "Mr. Mason lived at No. 4 Argyle Street<lb></lb>
