19th. day of January 1781</p>
<p n="6">Who being upon Oath says that on Monday Night last<lb></lb>
he put three boxes and a band box into a Hackney Coach drove by<lb></lb>
a person now present who calls himself <rs type="persName" id="LMOBPS45024_n6-1">Richard Hook</rs>

one Howel a Young Woman and himself got into said Coach &<lb></lb>
made form thence to <rs type="placeName" id="LMOBPS45024_geo11">Pall Mall</rs>

where they both got out and<lb></lb>
he took two of the said Boxes and the Band Box out of said Coach<lb></lb>
That the said <rs type="persName" id="LMOBPS45024_n6-2">Richard Hook</rs>

asked him whether the other box<lb></lb>
was to come out or not to which this Informant replied it<lb></lb>
was to remain in the Coach, and desired said Hook, at the same<lb></lb>
time to take Care of it for that he should take it with him<lb></lb>

-Says that he took said two Boxes & she<lb></lb>
Band Box to the House of Mr. Powel in Pased alley and on<lb></lb>
finding Mr. Powel out, he returned with the said young Woman<lb></lb>
to the said Coach which then stood the Corner of Pased Alley<lb></lb>
That he then called another Coach, which came up and the<lb></lb>
young Woman who was with him put in the Band Box Whilst this<lb></lb>
Informant put in said Two Boxes-that the said Young Woman<lb></lb>
then got in, and the Coach drove away-Says that he then<lb></lb>
returned to the said <rs type="persName" id="LMOBPS45024_n6-3">Richard Hook</rs>

other Box. that on said Hooks opening the Door of said Coach he<lb></lb>
observed to this Informant that his Box was gone, and asked him<lb></lb>
if he had not taken it away-this Informant told him he<lb></lb>
had not taken it away, but had left it in his case on which<lb></lb>
said Hook answered that some person must have opened the opposite<lb></lb>
Coach Door as the Box was Stolen away-Says that from</p>
