Mr. Church Warden Wilkinson acquainted the Gentlemen<lb></lb>
presented that this Vestry was held to take into Consideratn.<lb></lb>

that there had been a Meeting of several of the Parish Officers<lb></lb>

when it was generally conceived that of the Said Bill Shod.<lb></lb>
be pass'd into a Law, it would be burthen some to their<lb></lb>
respective Parishes and increase the Poor's Rates.</p>
<p n="3790">Several Clauses of the Bill being taken into Consideratn.<lb></lb>
by the Vestry, Mr. Ayres moved, That the Church Wardens<lb></lb>
and Overseers be directed and empowered to concur with<lb></lb>
the Church Wardens and Overseers of the other Parishes<lb></lb>
in London and <rs type="placeName" id="GLDBMV30502_geo341">Westminster</rs>

to oppose the Bill, And being<lb></lb>
Seconded, the Question was put and carried in the<lb></lb>
Affirmative Nem. Con.</p>

Mr. Church Warden Wilkinson then observed that by<lb></lb>
virtue of the late Act of Parliament for raising a certain<lb></lb>
number of Men for the Service of this Majesty's Army and<lb></lb>
Navy, Seven Men, were ordered to be Levied and raised for<lb></lb>
this Parish Jointly with the Parishes of <rs type="placeName" id="GLDBMV30502_geo342">All hallow Lambard</rs>

And that the Proportion<lb></lb>
of the Expence to be paid by this Parish on that Account<lb></lb>
wod. come to about One hundred and fifty Pounds, which<lb></lb>
Sum it wod. be necessary to raise by a Rate on the<lb></lb>
Inhabitants according to the directions of the said Act.<lb></lb>
And after some debate, It was unanimously Agreed and<lb></lb>
Ordered by the Vestry That a Rate of Seven pence in the Pound<lb></lb>
for the Rents of Houses, computed from the Land tax books<lb></lb>
be made on the Inhabitants to defray the Expence of<lb></lb>
Raising the said Men and incidental Charges. Also that<lb></lb>
Mr. Oswin the Parish Clerk be desired to collect the Said<lb></lb>
Rate and be paid by the Church Warden for So doing.</p>

Mr. Wilkinson then laid before the Vestry an Estimate<lb></lb>
for the Repairs of the Clock amounting to Forty Pounds</p>
